About Fletcher & John

Glenda Fletcher & John Moulton came together in 1997. Glenda had been performing many years solo as a singer-songwriter in North Carolina. When she moved to New Mexico in 1996, she and John began jamming together. John had been playing Appalachian fiddle music for most of his life, and over the years had become increasingly interested in Celtic music. When they came together, they didn’t think too much about how their styles might fit. They just dove into the music, and “Fletcher and John” became a duo without much fuss. They were fortunate enough to make music for so many years that it gave time for John’s son, Max Moulton, to grow into his own as a fabulous drummer. In 2009 Max was cajoled into learning the bodhran (traditional Irish drum), which he quickly mastered. His fingers also soon found their way onto the mandolin. A duo became a trio: The Fletcher & John Trio.

Their music travels the road of a folk-Celtic blend, including lots of original songs. They play a variety of styles from quiet singer-songwriter tunes all the way to rocking Celtic and bluegrass numbers that’ll make it hard to keep your feet quiet. They live in northern New Mexico which inspires many of their original songs about land, friends and neighbors. They enjoy playing parties, festivals, home concerts, art galleries, wineries….anywhere singing and playing are welcome.
